In a fast developing and formerly quiet corner of BGC in Manila, stands a chic building with equally alluring offerings. On the 2nd floor is the boutique of LCP, and if you haven’t heard of it, then you are missing out on this little piece of shopping paradise. They offer carefully curated pieces that can transform anyone’s wardrobe into a stylish one without breaking the bank. The lady in charge of this enterprise is Pie Alvarez, whose credentials, aside from her full-time job as Mayor of San Vicente, Palawan, includes a stint behind the counters of Chanel, a marketing degree from Babson College, and a sharp business acumen that is influenced by her father who is an entrepreneur at heart.
Clearly pegged for the lady on the go, Pie’s idea of LCP is to give people the world-class and enjoyable shopping experience they deserve. This includes online shopping with free shipping, personal shoppers, and a store with enough elegance to rival the great fashion houses in Paris.
Their office a floor up is equally as impressive, manned by style-conscious young ladies with educational pedigrees from Europe and US, collectively called Team LCP, working diligently on their iMacs. They carefully choose the items to buy from brands all over the world, like Colombia, Australia, and Europe, selecting obscure and upcoming labels that appeal to women of similar inclinations, young and old alike.
The business has the feel of a successful internet start-up in Silicon Valley—espressos, bubblies, and yells of joy can be heard every time a sale is made, or a large order is received.
“Our prices range from P2,000 to P60,000 for dressy gowns,” Pie explains. Some of their brands include labels like Milly, Mara Hoffman, Keepsake, and Finders Keepers. At those price points, it can give department stores a run for their money.
LCP is coming to Cebu for a limited time at The Henry Hotel in Banilad Road on September 22 and 23. See more details here.
