Fashion has indeed come to a full circle. Not to be confused with flare pants, these women’s trousers are actually slim to the hip then starts getting wide-legged from the thighs and drops lazily to the ankle. The concept of going wide(again) may be weird to some, since majority is still stuck in the ‘skinny jeans’ trend. But if you’re willing to try this trend out, but have no inkling how to put things together, here are a few pointers that might help you:

When it comes to tops, it’s best to tuck it in or belt-up so you can highlight your waist and not look like one piece of wide log. Stick to dainty/feminine blouses, crisp shirts or those sheer blouses which is also trendy right now. For shoes, wedges or chunky-heeled sandals will work.

If you’re a petite girl, stay away from those super-voluminous style as you will be swamped. Choosing a lighter-weight fabric helps. If you’re busty, you can pair it with a plain blouse and pair it with printed-chiffon palazzos. If you’re bottom-heavy however, do the opposite – look for plain block-colored palazzos and pair them with a horizontal-stripes top to broaden your torso, thus minimizing your bottom half.

Here’s a sample look we came up with… perfect for brunch with the ladies.
